Wednesday, December 28th is our first Teen Advisory Board Field Trip! TAB members with invitations, please meet at Borders Books and Music in Highland, Indiana (need directions?) at 1:00 p.m. We'll have a short TAB meeting, then you'll be allowed to pick books you think the library should own. It's going to be great fun! If you have any questions, check out the details on your invitation or call the library at (708) 474-2447.
Not a TAB member? It's easy to join--there's no cost and free food every month! The Teen Advisory Board gives their opinions and suggestions on programs, events, parties, book selection, and much more. Our next meeting will be held on Thursday, January 26 at 6:30 p.m.--all teens in grades 6-12 are welcome. No sign-up is necessary.

Were you in the paper after our Narnia party?
Our party on Thursday, December 8 celebrating the release of The Chronicles of Narnia movie was a big success! We had 40 participants who came to play games and win great prizes. It was snowy and cold when we went through the wardrobe and past the lamppost, but that didn't stop anyone from playing!
And four people got their pictures taken and printed in The Times on Friday, Dec. 9! Were you one?
Here's a link to the article online, but only one picture is shown. You can see the other picture posted in the teen section of the library.
Click here to read the article online.
And congratulations to everyone who won prizes that night, from books to movie tickets (courtesy of Lansing Cinema 8) to Turkish Delight! It was a fantastic evening!

The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
The new Chronicles of Narnia movie is being released Friday, December 9, 2005! Come celebrate with Lansing Library and Lansing Cinema 8 at our Narnia party on Thursday, December 8, 2005 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.!
You can win some great prizes, including a box set of the entire Chronicles, free passes to see the new movie at Lansing Cinema 8, Narnia action figures, a Narnia calendar, and much, much, more. See all the prizes on display at the library! We'll have games and activities all evening long--you could win a taste of Edmund's favorite treat, Turkish Delight!
What's the catch? Grades 4-8 only are allowed to participate (although the door prize is open to everyone) and you must be present at 8:00 p.m. to win. It's going to be a great time--see you Thursday!
