The Abe Award is announced!

It's official... this year's winner of the Abraham Lincoln High School Book Award is My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult! 13-year-old Anna's purpose in life is to donate bone marrow and blood to keep her older sister Kate, who suffers from leukemia, alive. But when Anna's mother decides Anna should give a kidney to Kate, Anna draws the line and sues her parents for the right to control her own body.

Second place was The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini and third place was The Earth, My Butt, and Other Big Round Things by Carolyn Mackler.

Thanks to everyone who voted this year! Every vote makes a difference, especially if you consider My Sister's Keeper won by only 4 votes.

Watch for next year's nominees to be announced soon!
