Circle of Magic - not new, but still good

At their heart, the Circle of Magic Quartet is about people - 4 Teenagers to be exact. The four- Daja, Briar, Tris and Sandry- are all unwanted in some way. Sandry may be noble, but her parents recently died leaving her alone. Daja was orphaned long ago and declared to be bad luck. Briar is a street rat on the verge of a life sentence in jail. Tris is a trader with a family that just doesn't want her.

Although unwanted, they each have talents that no one else quite has. Their diversity in personality, background and talent are what make their magical circle strong.

Each book centers on one of the four, and intertwines with the others.

The first book may start a little bit slow, but the characters are pretty interesting and the world is an intriguing one. The people they meet and the things they each go through in learning how to control their magic are sure to entertain fantasy lovers.

None of these books are new to the library, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't check 'em out - either for the first time, or for a second run through. They are the kind of fun books that you catch something new every time you read them.
